Detail by owner
This Motor Home is rare. Only 3,211 were ever manufactured by the Clark Cortez Equipment Company. The 1969 model is especially rare, being the first year the Chrysler 225 V8 engine was used to replace the industrial Slant 6 motor, still utilizing the 4 speed manual trans axle and original drive train. The odometer reads 75,000. The original cabinetry, paneling, counter tops, sink stove and fridge and bathroom (with shower ) are in good condition and working order. The original air conditioning and heating unit are in place and in working order. I believe the heating has been upgraded. There was a dent in the drivers rear, but the owner has since repaired the dent. There is a small crack in the drivers side windshield. There are very few minuscule spots of surface rust, and a couple places where the original paint is peeling. There are no leaks. The original stairs leading to the roof, rooftop railway and storage container are still in great condition. My favorite feature of this model are the two awnings on each side, which are easy to use and in good shape. It is built like a tank and very solid. The Cortez's are a good investment as their value continues to rise throughout the years. They were used to transport astronauts, and some are on display at different places. Others are being bought up by the movie industry, so their availability is declining. There is a mechanical issue and new tires are needed so it will have to be towed.
